Remain centred through the busy Fall season

Remain centred through the busy Fall season

Stress is such an integral part of our daily lives that most live with every day. While stress causes some people to break down, others have a calmer outlay which causes them to be mentally strong enough to last through the added pressure. But what are the secrets to keeping your centre and staying calm?

  1. Journal - getting your thoughts down in writing is a good way to help ease your stress and properly organize your thoughts and feelings.image-two
  2. Meditation - the “mental silence” that goes along with meditation can produce a state of calm, even during the stormiest of days. Take time out of your busy days to sit and breathe, while trying to remain focused on your breathing.
  3. Take a nap - after a night spent tossing and turning, a quick power nap could be just the thing to give your dragging brain a boost. Napping has been shown to reduce levels of cortisol and other stress hormones.
  4. Read a good book - can life be too much to handle at times? A great read can take your mind off your worries and escape into a story.
  5. Walk outside - a quiet stroll in the woods, park, or beach can do wonders for stress relief. No need to rush; take whatever pace feels most natural and easy for you.
